Healed of 32 Years Of Migraines and A Powerful Revelation From God Why The Delay.

For the first 32 years as a believer, I believed and confessed that God is my healer for migraines I had experienced since childhood, occurring about three times a month. One day, it came to me to ask Him what I was missing, and He revealed that I was indeed healed and that migraines resulted from how I used my back muscles. He instructed me to change that, and the migraines ceased. God knew my need before I asked, but I hadn't asked. I had rightly perceived God as my healer but needed a personal word distinguishing knowledge from transformation.

Throughout those years of experiencing migraines, I correctly identified God as my healer. However, I needed a personal and specific revelation, which I received when I finally asked for it. This revelation highlighted a crucial distinction between knowledge and transformation. Simply confessing healing scriptures didn't guarantee a transformative experience. Ironically, I had substituted my confession of healing Scripture verses for actually experiencing their effects. I was blind to my assumption that was causing delay. I was standing on His Word for healing but according to God that wasn’t the issue nor what I was in need of. I was healed all along but unaware I only needed to revise how I used my back muscles. There is danger, distance and delay in assuming. To avoid assuming anything it’s easier to start with asking God what to do or confess. I shared here what God showed me about my migraine experience that was so incredibly helpful.

By not asking questions during those years, I had unknowingly assumed my confession and correct belief were enough. However, when I finally asked God for feedback, He filled in blanks I didn’t know needed filling I so I knew completely. His answer revealed that I had been overestimating my role in sanctification the whole time.

1 Corinthians 6:12, “If anyone thinks he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know."

We can hold correct beliefs (e.g., I am healed of migraines), but still require additional truth (Rhema) to fully understand (e.g., God, ”Andy, you are healed. Adjust how you use your back muscles, and you will no longer experience migraines”). I followed His Rhema word counsel, and my 32-year migraine experience ended that day. I realized I had thought I had been standing on God’s word for health but it wasn’t a health issue. The entrance of His word brings light! He exposes our faith and any remaining impurities within it.

We have His good company to enjoy and His perfect guidance for a lifetime with divine course corrections so we stay on course and hit the target - all to His glory.

Is. 30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

We need God's perspective and His reorientation to His perspective because the lies we believe are imaginary and not true, and the truths (Logos) we perceive, we may not perceive completely. This revelation proved vital to me when I faced a health crisis a few years later. In praying and asking God for the truth about some serious health crisis symptoms He said, "You don't need a doctor; you need a miracle." I didn't panic because I knew He had additional truths of wholeness for every aspect of my life to hear. He remained faithful and worked a healing miracle, as He said. He is so good!

Embracing both Logos and Rhema adds a necessary dimension to our spiritual journey. Rhema represents God's personalized, spoken Word, addressing our unique situations, needs, and questions. It goes beyond the pages of the Bible.

We approach Jesus and receive His help in times of need. He provides freeing truth, profound wisdom, and wonderful counsel to address any additional beliefs we need to understand fully. He fills in any gaps. We require His guidance in challenging times and good times to discern resources and opportunities we might otherwise overlook.

I confess God's word but now do so with His input to avoiding unwarranted assumptions (thinking too highly of myself, leaning on my own understanding, and thinking everything is right in my own eyes). I purpose to always to ask God what He wants me to confess first, following the example of Jesus, who only spoke what He heard from His Father. It goes beyond the religious idea of WWJD (What would Jesus do) to my intimate relationship reality of WIJD (What is Jesus doing).

Psalm 16:8 guides me: "I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."
